NOTICE TO MARINERS

(No.8 of 2008)

VESSEL ARRIVAL DECLARATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:

That from the 1st May 2008 all vessels must complete and transmit a Vessel Arrival Declaration. This will be a mandatory requirement for the Consolidated European Reporting System (CERS).  The declaration must be received by Bristol Port at least 24 hours prior to arrival at the pilot station or 24 hours before entering the VTS area if not taking a pilot. Vessels arriving from ports closer than 24 hours passage time must complete and transmit the form as soon as possible after departure from the last port.

Failure to ensure that the form is transmitted before the pilot boarding time or before entering the VTS area may result in delays to the vessel and will also result in a formal report being made to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
