NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that construction works on a flood defence scheme at Pill will commence on Monday 14th June 2010 until further notice.

The general location of the works and support facilities will be at;

1. Pill side of the River Avon at Morgan’s Pill,
2. Shirehampton side of the River Avon at the disused Wharf (sludge jetty).

During the course of works barges will cross frequently between the two locations. The barges will display the appropriate navigation lights and the Bargemaster will communicate using VHF Channel 12.

Pontoon barges used for the construction works will, when moored or anchored close to the shoreline, display two orange flashing lights on the vessel side facing the river and a single all-round white light.

Mariners are instructed to proceed at minimum speed so as not to create a wash when passing the construction site. This requirement will apply regardless of any activity on the site.
