5. Diving
Back <<<Diving is prohibited anywhere in the docks without the permission of the Marine Department who will supply the contractor with a copy of the procedures relating to diving work. Check that your Supervisor has the document and study it so that you know the limitations imposed on the work allowed. All diving must be by surface demand equipment, and must comply with the Diving Operations at Work Regulations 1981 and as subsequently amended.
These restrictions are to control the danger to divers from the movements of lock gates, sluices, the running of pumps and the movement of shipping.
