Cotswold villages are within easy reach of Bristol Port

Look back in time and you will see a proud history of liners setting sail into the Atlantic from Bristol.  Now the tradition has been rejuvenated for the 21st Century with cruise lines being welcomed to Bristol Port for both turnaround and transit cruises.

Situated on England’s west coast, Bristol is the country’s most centrally located Cruise Terminal.  With excellent, uncongested motorway and rail access directly at the Port, a wealth of excursions are easily within reach.

For example, Bristol is the only port from which Highclere House – home of TV’s Downton Abbey – is easily accessible.  It is also the closest port to neighbouring Bath, the UK’s only UNESCO World Heritage City, where the Roman remains, architecture, shops, spa and cultural facilities give a wealth of ultra-high quality choices for passengers.

Classic English countryside tours and excursions to Welsh Castles easily fit within half or whole day outings.  For urban exploration, the city of Bristol is a must with a huge range of excellent shopping and heritage tours such as visits to Brunel’s ss Great Britain.

Bristol Port’s Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Docks are fully protected inside locks (365.7m x 42.7m with 14m draft at Portbury and 266.7m x 30.5m with 11m draft at Avonmouth), giving safe and easy passenger access.  It is also outside the English Channel SECA which came into force in 2015.
