Technologically powering this dynamic business is a campus style network with a VMware virtualized Microsoft server infrastructure, supporting a wide range of 3rd party software and in-house developed applications. During the apprenticeship, you will be exposed to a wide range of technologies and systems including hyperconverged servers, VMware, Cisco switches, fibre networking, Wi-Fi, CCTV, and cyber-security.

This opportunity is far from a typical helpdesk-based IT apprentice role and will suit someone looking to gain in-depth and hands-on experience with these technologies in a mixed office and industrial environment.

Day to day responsibilities include:

• Providing IT support to end users, including the support of software, hardware, operating systems and internal systems.
• Maintaining IT records including recording of assets, IT requests, User Accounts, e-mail accounts and general network information.
• Building and deploying computers to users ensuring they are built to the standard configurations and also setup and dispatched with all necessary software and equipment.
• Supporting the campus style network consisting of UTP, fibre and Wireless technologies.
• Providing basic user training as required.
• Studying for a qualification with Weston College.

A full driving licence and car are essential due to the size of the site, but business mileage reimbursed.
