Our Port has a long and proud association with the Royal family. In 1908 the Royal Edward Dock was opened by His Majesty King Edward VI and the Royal Portbury Dock was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Il in 1977.

Her service and dedication to both the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth have been inspirational and are reflective of the values held by The Bristol Port Company.

The Ports sector and our company are stronger for her leadership of the United Kingdom as a strong, vibrant trading nation and we will remember her with great affection, particularly during this immediate period of mourning.

As a mark of respect, there will be no cargo operations within the company from 0700 to 1900 on the day of the State funeral, Monday 19th September 2022.
