We are seeking to recruit a Marine Support Officer as part of our shipping operations organisation at Portbury and Avonmouth Docks.  

You will ideally hold a V103 Certificate, although consideration will be given to those with relevant marine experience.  Only applicants with legal authorisation to work in the UK will be considered. 

This is a shore-based position where your key responsibility will be to provide support to the Duty Assistant Harbour Master with the berthing and un-berthing of vessels at Royal Portbury and Avonmouth Docks.  Your duties will include ensuring compliance with marine procedures and regulations, the safe and efficient mooring of vessels, port infrastructure inspections and liaison with vessel Masters and service providers.  You will also be required to provide first on scene response to Oil Spill and other marine emergencies.

Your working week will start on any day of the week and your shift start and finish times will vary according to the time of High Water. You will be required to work at weekends, public holidays and overtime as required by your duty rota.  You will be expected to carry out a range of general duties as required by the Harbour Master. 

A full clean driving licence is essential.
